Getting Started

Installing the Battery Packs

To get started, you rst need to install the baery. The Field

PC is equipped to handle two baery packs at a time. Both

baeries are not needed for operation. Using two baery packs

extends the operating time of the unit.

1. Use the edge of a key or a at point screwdriver to open the

two quarter turn latches that release the baery door from

the unit.

2. Remove the baery door.

Note: The hand strap is aached to the baery door and does not need

to be removed to open baery compartment.

3. Insert the baery pack(s) so baery contacts match up. The

boom slot is the main baery while the upper slot is the

auxiliary baery. To use the upper slot, remove the plastic

plug that protects the connectors.

Note: When using one baery pack, the pack can be placed in either

compartment. The unit feels more balanced if placed in the boom slot.

CAUTION: When not using a baery in the auxiliary slot, use

the plastic plug for the auxiliary contacts. Failure to do so may

cause corrosion on the auxiliary contacts.
