18 Field PC Owner’s Manual

Communication Ports

The Field PC has the following communication ports located at

the top of the case:

Two 9 pin serial port (COM 1 and COM 2)

USB A (host) port

USB B mini (client) port

Powering Oﬀ, Suspending, Resetting, and Restoring

Factory Defaults

The Power buon allows you to suspend, power o, or reset the

device. A series of keyboard actions also lets you restore the

hard drive, seings, and icons to their original factory defaults.

Below are instructions for each action.

Powering Oﬀ the Device

When the device is powered o, it closes all programs and

powers down all system components except for the real-time

clock. Unlike suspend mode, the device resets when it is

powered on again. Any unsaved data will be lost.

To preserve baery power, we re/commend you power o the

device if it will be le unused for two weeks or longer.

To power o the Field PC,

1. Save all open les and close any running programs.

2. Press and hold the Power buon until the Power Buon

menu appears.


